M. Robert Goldstein entered into the practice of law with his father after being admitted to the Bar of the State of New York in 1949. They, along with Arthur and Michael Goldstein, later formed the firm of Samuel Goldstein and Sons, which merged with Michael Rikon, P.C. in July of 1994. Mr. Goldstein has practiced exclusively in the field of condemnation law.

Besides the practice of law, Mr. Goldstein has long been a leading member of the New York legal community. He was the Secretary of New York County Lawyers’ Association and a member of its Board of Directors and Executive Committee. He was also the Chair of the Association’s Condemnation Law Committee, Library Committee, House Committee and Real Property Law Committee. He was the administrator of the Association’s Pension Fund and is a former Chair of its Foundation. In addition, Mr. Goldstein is a member of the N.Y. State Bar Association, and he served as a member of that Bar Association’s House of Delegates. Mr. Goldstein is also a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, he is a Trustee of the Public Access Law Library in New York County, he was a Special Master in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, and he is a Commercial Division Mediator for that court. Mr. Goldstein was also mediator for the First Department Disciplinary Committee. Since 1972, he, first with his brother, Michael Goldstein, and then with Michael Rikon, has written a column on Condemnation and Tax Certiorari for the New York Law Journal. He is listed in Who’s Who in American Law.

Mr. Goldstein has also engaged in a wide range of public and charitable activities. He has served as president of the United Community Fund of Great Neck, president of the Couples Club of Temple Beth El of Great Neck, vice-president of Glen Head Country Club, and chairman of its membership committee. He has also served as a member of the Planning Board, Chairman of the Board of Zoning Appeals, and Trustee and Deputy Mayor of the Village of Great Neck, New York. In addition, he served for eleven years as acting Justice, and Justice of the Village Court of the Village of Great Neck. He is a member of the Planning Board of the Village of Kings Point.

Mr. Goldstein received his B.A. from Pennsylvania State University and his J.D. from N.Y.U. Law School. He lives in Great Neck, New York with his wife Susan.
